Assembly Tips

  Thank You for purchasing Pygmalien.

As you unpack your sculpture, take a good look to make sure that everything is in order. We work hard to ensure that each piece that leaves our studio is complete and undamaged. If you do run into any problems, please call us immediately.

  1. Before assembling your kit, remove any flash (excess resin around the seams with an X-acto knife.

  2. Clean up any seam lines or imperfections with small files, sand paper, and A/B putty (available in Hobby Shops and Hardware stores).

  3. Be sure to wash all of the parts completely using dish soap and water. This is an important step. Don't skip it!

  4. Once the parts are completely dry, spray them with a quality primer.

  5. If the primer reveals any imperfections that you didn't spot before, now is the time to clean them and re-prime. You can use spot putty for filling fine holes and scratches.

  6. Carefully glue the arm/gun to the figure. Use cyanoacrylate (Super Glue) or epoxy cement. For a better bond, scrape any paint from the surfaces to be glued. Fill and blend the seams before painting.

  7. The brain, sidekick, and base should all be painted before assembly.

  8. For the best results, use an airbrush for the large areas. If you are going to use a brush, thin your paint and work slowly. Be sure that each coat is dry before applying the next. Silver spray paint can work well for the base.

  9. We’ve included wire to suspend the sidekick. Although it’s a good idea to glue this wire into the hole in the base, It is not necessary to glue the brain in place. If you do decide to seal the brain in, don’t use cyanoacrylate on the dome! When it dries it leaves a white haze on the clear plastic. Epoxy or even white glue should do the job.
